Spain is a red wine lover’s paradise. Where else can you find mature, barrel-aged reds that are so remarkably affordable?
Sherry, of course, has been a famous Spanish export for centuries, the reds of Rioja for well over 100 years. But don’t for a minute assume Spain is old fashioned. Today it’s at the cutting edge of European winemaking. Thanks partly to EU investment, up-and-coming regions (unheard of a decade ago) are now jostling with Rioja for the lion’s share of wine exports and Spain’s surprisingly crisp, modern dry whites are winning us over too.
“There are better Spanish wines on the shelves today than ever before

Matthew Jukes – The Daily Mail
“Spain, in particular, is going through a wine revolution
new world winemakers are bringing their skills to traditional Spanish varieties and are producing excellent, fruit-driven wines.”
